Overview

The Network Network position which serves as a technical resource and ensures proper operations with regard to implementation, maintenance and problem resolution. This position requires the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. All candidates must be detail orientated and capable of managing medium scale projects from inception to completion, without close supervision. Excellent communication skills are required, as this position will be customer facing and regularly interfaces with all levels of staff within the company, as well as vendors and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Previous cabling experience and the ability to troubleshoot connections end to end (network device to endpoint/end user)
  • Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of network equipment – Firewalls, routers, switches and wireless devices
  • Wireless experience to include AP installation and configuration of SSIDs, wireless security and encryption, guest access and maintenance of on-prem and/or cloud Wireless LAN Controllers
  • CCNP level experience to include L2 and L3 technologies, WAN/LAN – VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, QoS and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Security and Firewall experience to include installation and configuration of Next-Gen Stateful FW services, FW rulesets, site to site VPN tunnels, SSL VPN connections, Intrusion Prevention/Intrusion Detection and Application Visibility/Control
  • Phone/VOIP system experience with IP phone installation and maintenance – SIP, G.711/G.729, PRI/T1s – ShoreTel and/or Mitel experience a plus
  • Network Administration experience to include network device mapping and analytics tools (Solarwinds, Wireshark), network documentation (Visio, Lucidchart), Service Desk ticketing and incident response

Qualifications

  • Installs, tests, upgrades and configures system files and services to enhance performance in the environment
  • Assists with gathering documentation used to capture, structure, and represent requirements
  • Analyze information and requirements to meet functionality expectations
  • Support application specialists in vendor management for incident and problem resolutions
  • Create and maintain design, structure, processes and procedures documentation
  • Troubleshoots common system problems and documents system events
  • Utilizes standard corporate service management tools for things such as change documentation and management, incident and problem activities, storing documented knowledge base articles relating to incident and problem resolutions, etc.
  • Create processes and procedures for building new and upgrading servers, as well as completing routine and repeatable tasks
  • Participate in after-hours and/or weekend problem resolution, when needed
  • Participate in rotating weekly on-call problem resolution activities
