    Overview

    The PMO is focused on delivery of projects for external enterprise clients/customers. These engagements typically involve planning and execution of large scale national hardware deployments.  Examples of typical projects include:

    • 16,000 PCs deployed across 320 sites located in 14 states,
    • Multiple work streams for banking customer – Server, PC and Printer Refresh, as well as new builds, retro fits, and new market integration,
    • Digital signage deployments in retail customer environments.

     

    The DirectorProject Management Office (PMO) has primary responsibility for providing leadership, integration and management of the PMO processes and functions to improve the consistency and efficiency of project delivery across the End Point Technology (ETG) organization. This position is involved in defining, planning, tracking and managing the projects assigned to the team.

    Responsibilities

    Strategy

    • Defining PMO strategy and leading the design and implementation of PCM’s common project management methodology, standards and tools to drive and facilitate the successful delivery of projects,
    • Developing and implementing PMOprocesses and policies,
    • Reviewing tools and systems for improved efficiency gains,
    • Maintaining PMO governance, reporting and review framework to provide view of all project activity,
    • Managing interdependencies and coordination across projects to ensure that information relating to project deliverables, risks and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders and that key performance indicators are monitored and evaluated,
    • Coordinating forecasts and projections with regional directors.

     

    Resource Management

    (Team currently consists of 10-15)

    • Defining business strategies and PMO policies to enable the strategic coordination of multiple major projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of projects and resource utilization,
    • Providing direction and oversight of the ETG PMO project management staff to ensure projects meet customer goals and requirements,
    • Mentor, monitor and develop direct reports,
    • Attracting, developing and retaining highly skilled and top-performing talent.

     

    Relationships

    • Providing leadership that enables PCM associates and customers to have confidence in PCM,
    • Maintaining customer relationships with key accounts - understanding and impacting prospects and projects that have the largest impact on PCM,
    • Maintaining relationships with PCM account management team to promote PMO capabilities,
    • Fostering collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with ATG & MTG PMO Directors and PCM senior stakeholders, assessing cross-functional project team capability,
    • Providing coaching, training and support to enhance the PMO teams project/program management capability, and improving collaborative development and project results,
    • Maintaining and building key vendor, manufacturer and/or partner relationships.

     

    Presales

    • Working with account management team, presales consultants and other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs,
    • Crafting PMO responses to RFPs,
    • Providing pricing input to presales consultants,
    • Articulating PCM’s value proposition to customers -- presentations, calls, onsite meetings,
    • Presenting to and educating sales team on PMO.
